More than 120 people, including kids and adults, joined us last Friday at our first ICSC Family Movie Night for a screening of Disney’s “The Jungle Book.” Smiles filled the faces of children and adults alike as they adventured through the world of Mowgli and Baloo here in the comfort of the Islamic Center.
“I wanted to go get popcorn, but I was having so much fun and I didn’t want to miss any of the movie”
After transforming the Lecture Hall into a theater for the night, moviegoers stopped at a concession stand in the lobby to grab a free bag of popcorn or purchase a tray of nachos as they entered the movie. Easy for some, others were torn and had to put a little more thought into it, “I wanted to go get popcorn, but I was having so much fun and I didn’t want to miss any of the movie,” said Wafaa M. (JYG Member), “when I did, I had to get up and rush to go quick!”
For those who weren’t in the mood to stay seated, we had games of table tennis going on in the social hall. After much back and forth, Sheikh Asim Buyuksoy was the winner of the evening.
Look for another Family Movie Night in the weeks to come! It is one of our new, recurring programs here at the Islamic Center and will be held one Friday each month.
