This Sunday, L.A. celebrated its first ever “LA Heart: Many Faiths, One CommUNITY” Block Party, right in front of the Islamic Center with Vermont Ave blocked off between 4 th and 5 th Street. City officials, Interfaith Leaders, Community members of various faiths and ages came together to celebrate our diversity, share food, music, children and youth choir performances plus lots of games and fun attractions for the children.
We also opened our doors to the guests for Open Mosque Day to get to know more about Islam and the center’s activities. It was a great time spending time with our community and recognizing the diversity we all bring to the table. We can’t wait for next time!
